Accommodation
Light of Maasai volunteer’s house 5 bedrooms with twin single beds 1 beroom with single bed and desk 1 bedroom with a double bed a central dining/community area 2 bathrooms with showers and flush toliets a fully equipped kitchen. If there are more than 7 volunteers at any time, you may have to share a room We have our own cook who will prepare breakfast and evening meals and you will receive a packed lunch each day. The volunteer’s house is on its own grounds with a boundary fence and a security guard 24/7. Smoking is banned in all enclosed public spaces of the volunteer’s house including the bedrooms. |

Age
Volunteer’s minimum age is 21 years. If you will be under 21 at the time of travel you must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Supervision and welfare of person’s under the age of 21 is the legal guardian’s responsibility and not that of the Light of Maasai.

Transport from Nairobi(all cost are at time of print)
LOM taxi:
LOM shall arrange transfers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, to be driven to Volunteers House in Rombo, the journey takes approx 5 hours on tarmac road and 30 minutes on an uneven dusty surface.
The cost will be between €90 - €120 (depending on time of year) one way from Nairobi to Volunteers House in Rombo. This will be negotiated and paid by the LOM 3 days before your arrival. On your arrival at the V.H. you will pay the taxi fare to the LOM. No money should be exchanged with the driver. If there is more than 1 volunteer, the cost will be split among them.
Fly:
Volunteers flying from Wilson Airport, Nairobi (WIL) to Amboseli safari (AMBO). Volunteers will need to arrange their own transport from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Wilson Airport. Approx.cost €120 return from Wilson Airport Nairobi to Ambesoli safari park
Bus:
Volunteers wishing to take a bus from Nairobi to Loitokitok will make their own way to the Nyamakima district where you will get a matatu (a regional bus) at the namanga stage Approx.cost €10 one way from Nairobi to Loitokitok
When you arrive in Loitokitok /Ambeoseli you will be welcomed by one of the founder members of the Light Of Maasai (photos are on page 1). You will be driven in our safari jeep to the volunteer’s house in Rombo.
Travel time from Loitokitok to Rombo is approx 40 minutes on an uneven dusty surface. Travel time from Amboseli to Rombo is approx 70 minutes.
Light of Maasai takes no responsibility for volunteer’s who choose to fly or take the bus.
Light of Maasai responsibility only begins when volunteers are met by a member of Light of Maasai Project Staff.
